Hi I’m Angela!
An expat life coach with a global story.
Living abroad is exciting AND it also can feel overwhelming and lonely at times. I know this from my own personal journey as an expat!
My expat journey: a life shaped by movement
I grew up as an expat from the time I was six months old until I was seven. My parents had a nomadic spirit, moving wherever life and opportunity took them. My mother is Colombian, my father American, and together they worked for international companies that allowed them to live abroad and explore the world.
From Paris to Russia, Poland to Italy, Colombia, Chile, and Argentina — I spent my early years immersed in many cultures. By the time we eventually settled in Los Angeles, I already understood both the excitement and the challenges of making a home in new places.
Education & professional background
When it came time for college, I naturally chose to keep exploring the world. I studied Studio Arts and minored in Psychology at Bard College in New York before returning to Los Angeles to earn my Master’s in Social Work at the University of Southern California.
In 2019, I became a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). I worked with individuals facing homelessness and a wide range of mental health challenges. I learned how powerful guidance, empathy, and support can be when someone is navigating transitions.
In 2025, I completed an ICF accredited life coaching program.
Following Love and Reinvention
By chance, I met my husband while traveling in Amsterdam and what began as a swipe turned into the beginning of a whole new chapter. Feeling ready for change, I moved to Amsterdam in 2019. Before I moved we would dream about a different kind of life in the Italian countryside and eventually creating a retreat space centered on mental wellness
Not long after, I became pregnant, and the pandemic reshaped everything. Far from my support system and unable to practice therapy in Europe, I had to reinvent myself. In 2021, I founded Cloud Doodles, a dog accessory brand built on the belief that pets can be powerful sources of comfort, joy, and mental well-being. Through that work, I reconnected with my creativity, built new communities, and continued to support others in meaningful ways.
Life in Italy today
In September 2021, we moved to Asti, Italy. Unlike Amsterdam, Italy was a harder adjustment with more obstacles, slower systems, and the challenge of building from scratch. But it also gave me resilience, clarity, and a deeper appreciation for growth through discomfort.
Today, I live in the countryside with my husband, our daughter, and a lively family of three dogs, one cat, two rabbits, and five chickens. We run our business Cloud Doodles and are still building toward our dream of a wellness retreat while raising our daughter to feel at home in the world.
Why I coach expats: My coaching philosophy
My journey has taught me that every expat story is unique. There is no single path to belonging or thriving only the one you create for yourself. Sometimes, though, it helps to have guidance, reflection, and encouragement along the way.
As your coach, my role is not to tell you what to do, but to help you discover your own answers. Together, we’ll explore your goals, your vision, and the life you want to build abroad and we’ll create practical steps to make it possible.
Your story is unique. Your path is your own. I’m here to walk beside you as you create a life that feels meaningful and truly yours.
